Overview

We are currently seeking a Production Lead to join our vegetable processing facility in Ogden, UT.  This position is responsible for monitoring and coordinating all activities of the production process. Directly supervises 4-7 employees on each production line. Responsible for training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of production run and maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Ensure all floors and workstations are kept clean and organized to achieve maximum production and safety.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies regarding safety regulations, work performance standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • Study production schedules and estimate time and requirements needed for completion of job assignment.
  • Inspect all areas of production to verify conformance to specifications, which includes raw product grades, ratios, packaging materials, case size, case printing, bags, seals, and cutoffs.
  • Accurately complete all required reports including crew sheets, shift reports, labor costing, and accident/injury reports, etc.
  • Organize breaks and lunch rotations for production employees, ensuring that there are no abuses.
  • Conduct food safety and personnel safety training.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of finished product.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all employees. Promote a positive work environment.  Recommend and document all disciplinary actions.
  • Recognize and understand the schedule options in PKMS
  • Escalate employee labor issues to Supervisors and direct Manager.
  • Understand and maintain quality assurance standards on the production floor and assist as necessary with QA functions.
  • Enforce safety guidelines and immediately report safety issues.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Follow all safety guidelines set forth by company and plant policies and managers.
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures, which include SOP’s, Employee Handbook, Food Safety and Quality Procedures, Food Quality Policies, GMP Handbook, HACCP, and Pictsweet Safety Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work primarily in a cold environment (approximately 32 degrees) with consistent loud noise
  • Stand for prolonged periods.
  • Work effectively in cold environment for up to 10 hours.
  • Climb and descend steep stairs to the hoppers or mezzanine.
  • Bend, stoop, and crouch on a regular basis.
  • Consistent repetitive motion involving wrists, hands, fingers, and shoulders.
  • Visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and quality of assigned work.
